rep and set amount for chest and triceps?
So for chest/tricep day I’m thinking i gonna do 4 exercises with 3 sets for each. is this too much or too little? and for the first 2 sets i would go till failure with heavy weight and then on my last set i would use a lighter weight and bust out like 15-20 reps. does this sound like a good plan? if not, how can i improve it? and btw I’m 15, and I’m going for muscle and definition. Not tone. and would it be better, worse, or not matter if i trained chest by itself for about 4 exercises one day and then did tricep the next for about 4 exercises? basically just giving each muscle its own day
ELman, According to the experts, you are suppose to go from light to heavy. They recommend 12 reps with light weight, then 10 with heavier weight, and 8 with the heaviest. It is called the added weight method and is used by most serious weightlifters.
